A massive thank you to the Mackay NAIDOC Committee for another successful NAIDOC Week and Family Day. Family Day was a great success and there were more participants in the Street March and more Stalls than previous years.

There are new faces who have started with MARABISDA in our Delegated Authority program – Alex Cowan and Briony Hansen. Both of our new recruits have come from Child Safety to work with us in the community sector which is very much appreciated. Alex was a Child Safety Officer, and Briony has worked in administration and was doing Cultural Practice Advisor work whilst working with Child Safety. Tarita Baggow, a long-time employee of MARABISDA has moved from Family Participation program to the Delegated Authority program to help with the work being done there.

Trading Tracks have also had some changes in staffing – we’ve had to say farewell to Clarissa Kohler as she was successful in obtaining employment with Education Queensland, and we’ve welcomed new employee Shardai Williams to the Business Development Officer role. Shardai comes with an administration and mental health support background and comes on board just as Trading Tracks are moving from our office at 35 Milton Street. Their new office premises are at the corner of Alfred and Brisbane Streets.
